The youth worked hard in the garden today. Our garden beds were invaded by weeds, so we spent time deweeding in and around the beds, and of course they loved watering the garden and watering themselves. We wrapped up with a little snack and a gift card to honor their effort.

Hi Rebecca’s Daughters Family,

Just a quick reminder that we will be meeting for the Youth Garden this Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m.

Our veggies are growing beautifully, and we even have returning plants from last year that the youth grew. They are coming back strong, and the garden beds are looking incredible
This Saturday, we will be deweeding, trimming some of our growing veggies, and giving the youth the chance to harvest produce that is ready to be picked.

There will be snacks and gift cards for all participants.We also have a Back to School Scholarship opportunity. All youth who attend this session and the next upcoming sessions will be entered into a drawing for a one hundred fifty dollar Back to School Scholarship. There will be three winners.
This is a wonderful way to support our youth as they prepare for the school year.

Come see the latest progress from our young starters. Healthy lettuce, thriving cilantro, and so much more. Come ready to get your hands dirty, learn, and help our community garden grow.

Today Coach Marie shared the joy of Rebecca’s Daughters and the opportunity we have to edify, or oikodome, our youth alongside our amazing community partners. She had the honor of facilitating a skincare workshop at the Embrace Her Summit hosted by Helping Our Adolescents Prosper HOAP,Inc. and Girls Growing to Women (GG2W) Girls Growing II Women,Inc.

Coach Marie opened up about her own middle school years when she was teased for the severe acne on her forehead. She shared how those moments made her feel self conscious and less confident, and why this work means so much to her today.

Coach Marie is not only our Founder and Life Coach. She is also a Licensed Esthetician who loves helping youth build confidence by understanding their skin type and learning how to care for it. These were tools she did not have growing up. She believes that small tools can make an enormous difference in boosting a young person’s confidence and helping them feel less self conscious.❤️🤗

Another successful Youth Garden Day. Some of our young gardeners even took home onions, cilantro, dill, lettuce, and mustard greens, and we planted lots more veggies together today. Watching them harvest what they grew and help expand the garden fills my heart 😍🤗
