JobStart

JobStart JobStart is employment training for 18 - 24 year-old males of color who have circumstances that prevent them from getting and keeping a job.

In JobStart participants will find a community that walks alongside individuals as they gain confidence and acceptance in themselves and grow in their ability to support themselves and their family. JobStart will help participants understand themselves and identify thoughts and actions that slow their progress in the workplace and prevent them from being successful on the job. in skills to help them make critical choices that will get them ahead in their career and life. JobStart participants will get paid above an hourly minimum wage to practice employment skills and gain a professional work experience in our in-house Employment Labs. Participants will be under the guidance of our instructors who value individuals and will help them to develop skills in an encouraging environment. We want participants to know that we recognize it takes time to develop skills and when mistakes happen they will be given opportunities to grow and will continue to be accepted. It is our belief that once a participant enters the JobStart community they will always have a place here.
