☕️💙 Lovet Love Story: Latte
Sometimes, a name really does seem to find its way to the right animal.
For their one-year wedding anniversary, Latte’s adopters decided to finally make a dream come true: adopting a cat. They came to Humane Society of West Michigan and started looking around at all the cats waiting for homes when one little girl caught their attention.
She was busy trying to get their attention, following their hands along the outside of her window and showing off her playful side. Then they saw her name.
Latte.
It felt like fate. A year earlier, they had celebrated their wedding with photos at Lantern Coffee Bar and Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids. They love coffee, have an espresso bar at home, and even have coffee-themed tattoos. Now, on their anniversary, they had somehow found a cat named Latte.
When they met her, Latte's shy beginnings at the shelter were nowhere to be found. She rolled over for pets, stuck out her tongue, and tried to play. They had originally planned to meet three cats, but after meeting Latte, they never made it to the other two. ☕️🐈
Nearly three months later, Latte has completely settled into her new life. She is playful, curious, energetic, and very chatty, with a love for cuddling that means getting as close to her humans' faces as possible. After spending her first day hiding under the couch, she now spends her time lounging on top of it and bringing an enormous amount of joy to her family.
Her adopters put it perfectly: “Whoever named Latte didn’t just give her a name, but a destiny that led her right to us.”
Latte's story is one of those adoption stories that feels like it was written just for her. We are so happy she found the people who were meant to love her, and that Lovet could be part of her journey by helping care for her after adoption. 💙
