Now that we have our non profit officially set up, we decided it was time to bring this page to life. The Cody Siem Skatepark page will still be the main source of the skate scene at the park.
This page will be for keeping everyone informed on the progress of the association and keeping those involved informed.
We have all heard the saying it takes a village to raise a child. We we want to tell you it's gonna take a whole community to redo the skatepark into a modern park with great features and a family friendly atmosphere.
We will be looking for all those who value our park or even if you don't be want to be involved and make a difference in your community. We will need a lot of volunteers as there is much to do in coming years.
Things we want to get going this year:
1. An official community meeting to discuss the associations role and the direction we should take to fulfill our goals of promoting skateboarding and improving our park.
2. Get a group ready for parades.
3. Volunteers to man booths at festival and fair events.
4. A video maker to set up a running video of skateboarding and maybe some interviews. To play at the booths.
5. Free skateboard lessons on a regular basis for those who want to learn.
6. Small improvements at the park like more seating for skaters and spectators. Repairs as needed to existing ramps.
7. Adding a storage compartment with a door and a lock to one of the ramps. Add brooms and a small tool kit. Maybe a first aid kit...
