Grand Rapids Women's Chorus

Grand Rapids Women's Chorus The Grand Rapids Women's Chorus is dedicated to singing music that celebrates and honors the diversity of women's lives. Our motto: Passion, Purpose, Song!

Drawing on music from many cultures, our 80-member chorus strives to educate & inspire our community to promote justice, peace, & equality while having a wonderful time and being highly entertaining. Auditions: In August. You don't need to read music but you do have to be able to sing your part while surrounded by others singing theirs, and be willing to work. Check grwc.org for information. Seaso

n: We begin learning the season's music in September. We perform regularly twice a year, a short program one night in December and our full season's music on a Saturday in May. Usually we have guest musicians join us for a few of the pieces.

Another one of our favorite songs we learned this season as a chorus - “True Colors” was a hit at both our winter and spring concerts. This time featuring soloist Chelsea Sheneman. 🌈✨

As part of our 30th anniversary, we decided to sit down with some of the incredible women who make GRWC what it is. Today we’re passing the mic to Bonnie Doyle! 🎤

We couldn’t let our 30th anniversary concert end without one more song. 🎶

As an encore for our Voices of Resilience concert, the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus closed the night with “Keep Marching” from the Broadway musical Suffs. A powerful show telling the story of the women’s suffrage movement and the activists who refused to give up the fight.

The song began with the soloist Gabrielle Rucki.

Happy 30th, GRWC.
