Dave came to the College in August 1991 and, at the time of this signing, has spent twenty-four years positively influencing thousands of Aquinas students and serving organizations locally, regionally and nationally. This scholarship is designed to honor him for his years of dedicated teaching and service to the Aquinas community. Dave pushes those around him to realize and exceed their potential
as students, professionals, and leaders. His endless pride in students and invaluable mentorship endure beyond graduation. He is a selfless individual, always proclaiming the achievements of others. He demonstrates daily the importance of service, stewardship, and integrity. He exhibits and accepts nothing less than the highest standard of quality. Ever present are his keen intelligence, sharp wit, tireless energy, genuine compassion, and chic dress. The common response from alumni during outreach for this scholarship was that Dave has “changed my life”. We are all better people for having known him. Dr. David Weinandy has made all the difference in the world, and we strive to carry his spirit into the future through this scholarship as well as in how we approach our daily lives. The David Weinandy Student Leader Scholarship is unrestricted and awarded to students with the greatest need. Because of his dedicated service to student organizations and the fostering of strong student leaders, this scholarship is designed to be directed toward students who are actively involved in student leadership activities either on or off campus.
