Susan Mast ALS Foundation

Susan Mast ALS Foundation The Susan Mast ALS Foundation serves ALS patients, families and caregivers in West Michigan.

The Susan Mast ALS Foundation was created in loving memory of Susan Mast who passed away from ALS in 2014. Susan was the Executive Director at Faith Hospice and her passion in life was to help others in time of need. The Mast family is dedicated to keeping her memory alive so they created the foundation. The foundation offers support groups, educational seminars, loan closet, meALS program, respit

e and other areas of services - but most of all a helping and loving hand as they deal with the challenges of living with ALS.

Some of the most meaningful moments of PEDALS do not always happen at the starting line.

Rosie and her mom signed up to participate virtually, planning a bike ride in the morning and a walk together later in the day. They have already surpassed their $500 goal, raising $567 and currently holding the number one spot on the leaderboard!

One of the best parts about PEDALS is that you can participate your own way. Ride, walk, run, or roll on your own time while also turning your experience into a fundraiser that helps local families facing ALS.

If you have been wanting to be part of PEDALS but cannot make it in person, this is your way in.

Join us virtually at www.pedalsforals.com
Thank you, Rosie, for helping make a difference for ALS families.

At Susan Mast ALS Foundation, we’re honored to proudly serve 150 families impacted by ALS.

Behind every number is a family navigating an incredibly difficult journey, and it’s our privilege to be alongside them with support, resources, and care throughout every part of the way.

Because of this community, 150 families across West Michigan know they’re not facing ALS alone. Thank you for helping us continue to show up, provide support, and make a difference where it matters most.

Some legacies live on through memories. Others live on through action.
When Jim Berry was living with ALS, he had the idea of creating a bike ride to raise funds to support other ALS families as a way to pay it forward. His great friend Gary Walker encouraged him to make it happen, and together they started Pedaling for pALS, which eventually evolved into PEDALS, a bike, walk, run, and roll event.
This past March, Jim’s son Josh happily wore his PEDALS shirt while completing the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, carrying not only a medal across the finish line, but also his dad’s incredible legacy.
What started as one family wanting to help others has grown into a movement of ALS families and their community coming together to support hundreds of local ALS families with respite care, equipment, meals, home visits, and more.
This year, the Walker family continues that legacy in an extraordinary way as Title Sponsors of PEDALS in support of local ALS families.
Thank you, Josh, for continuing to honor your dad in such a meaningful way. And thank you to the Walker family for helping create something that continues to make a lasting impact for families facing ALS throughout West Michigan.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at the ballpark yesterday as we celebrated Lou Gehrig Day with the West Michigan Whitecaps and honored the ALS community.

We are incredibly grateful and honestly overwhelmed by the support. More than 100 people sat in the Susan Mast ALS Foundation section, creating an amazing sea of purple in the stands!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, purchased a shirt, shared our mission, and helped raise awareness for local families living with ALS. Your support means more than words can express.
