25 AUG: Hit the road once again, providing three joint “Citations of Appreciation” to three businesses in recognition for exhibiting outstanding citizenship by the display of the UNITED STATES FLAG. First, I hit Freddy’s on Plainfield (pic on left) for their flag, which I never see a tear and always in great shape (visit surprised them big time); then I went a bit outside my normal range, to Dorr, to Black Gold Transport (pic on right, top two: one with the flag, below with the manager), to recognize what is claimed to be the largest outdoor flag in Michigan (80X50 ft), and I believe it … what a sight!! Their manager was quite proud that they keep their flag(s) in pristine condition. My last visit was to Camping World just up 131 from Dorr (bottom right pic). They were quite enthusiastic, but admitted that their flag was 80X40 ft, but it was in super shape, which they are careful to monitor and it shows … they regrettably told me that they helped Black Gold buy their flag and pole … great to share! Bravo Zulu to all three!!
