Primary emotions: love, gratitude, happiness, guilt, anger, sadness, and fear manifest in our bodies. Oftentimes, these emotions invite a specific physical posture. Slide through to dive deeper into each emotion, while being prompted to pay closer, more specific attention to your own. Recognizing that our emotions are accompanied by impulses and physical sensations enables us to begin tolerating these emotions within our bodies without needing to externalize or suppress them.

Mental Health journeys can be a lonely battle due to stigma. A stigma we are constantly trying to break. We can’t do it alone, we absolutely need each other! We love the quote, “we find ourselves in the face of the other.” It really distills down the idea that without others we are limited in how far we can go and how much we can know ourselves. Stay tuned for more mental health tips by coming next week. DM us if you want to connect with Stillpoint!

Our bodies are always talking to us, but are we always listening? Learning the language of your body can be one of the most helpful tools on your road towards mental wellbeing.

Ever wonder if what we say is what we mean and also what we do? Well, the only way to truly find out is by joining. We know that’s a huge ask so we are grateful for those who trust us! Trust is earned and we mean it when we say this space is for everybody, every body, and that everyone belongs. Not sure we can make that happen for you? DM us, and let us know what you need. As a non profit we are committed to learning, providing resources and making your experience in social movement spaces safe. During mental health awareness month we amplify the conversation about what mental health means for all, but we can promise this convo doesn’t die after May ends - it’s happening all the time inside this community. Please let us know what you need 💚your co-captains, Sammie & Ben

During the next two weeks we will be sharing content created by our friends in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Be sure to spread the love and also give us a like or comment if this resonates. Access to resources and support is incredibly important. What might seem simple for you may be a very hard thing for another. Let’s lift this up! Mental Health is a pillar in our community and we will always keep talking about it💚 Learn from our friends at Stillpoint:

“Symptoms of anxiety, depression, and difficult feelings can often be so disruptive. It may feel odd to know that these symptoms are actually quite helpful on our road towards mental wellbeing. When we turn towards these difficult experiences, it can provide beneficial information that we are needing about ourselves.”

Thank you to our friend and sponsor for all the support this run season - especially to their community development officer Abbey💚 We cannot make these run series and resources happen without the help of our community partners like Honor Credit Union. Not only do they support our events but they have taught us as a small non profit how to bank! Hear from Abbey why supporting non profits like ours is important to Honor Credit Union.

At Friendship Miles representation MATTERS. Runners exist in all forms and it’s a beautiful journey to see and be a part of. Last month we asked community members what came to mind when they hear the word “runner” and what they wished more people understood about who belongs in these spaces.

The answers are raw, real, and true to what we hold in high in our community. This kind of inclusivity extends out to other groups near and far. A runner doesn’t look like anything but someone who runs… no matter how fast or far. Eh, what a concept🙌

Does fear or worry stop you from showing up? We get that, and we also hope you feel safe to face that fear with us. So many amazing people are ready to celebrate you with high fives and good vibes!! So see ya April 18 for more fun to come. Appreciate all your vulnerable shares and willingness to be on camera! Big thanks to for making this run series possible!
