Not too long ago, I had the privilege of helping Katy with her Paratext installation code. It struck me again how remarkable her journey has been: over 30 years ago, when Reinier de Blois was still developing Paratext, Katy was the very first to recognize its potential. She championed its use and encouraged countless Bible translators to adopt it. Her vision and advocacy shaped the way Scripture is translated today, leaving an impact that will continue for generations.

This year, our Paratext software has experienced an incredible 22% growth in users, accelerating the mission to make the Bible accessible to all. 📈 According to the latest from Wycliffe, only 985 languages remain without a translation started—a milestone that brings us closer than ever to reaching every language community. 🌍📖

However, we're at a pivotal crossroads. Paratext currently runs on an outdated platform, and we're one year into an ambitious complete rewrite to modernize it for the future. To keep Paratext free and available to all Bible translators worldwide, we urgently need your support to continue this vital work.

Thursday afternoon Doug presented to a group of Lausanne participants on Bible Translation in the 21st Century. Always exciting to watch people discover tools that will make their ministry work more effective.

It is hard to express the experience of being in a room of 5000 believers from all over the world, praising God together. In this group there is no denomination, just Christ and him crucified. Doug interacted with many of them in the afternoon as they pass the SIL Global Bible Translation Tools booth. He has a soft spot for our African brothers and sisters and spent a lot of time conversing in French. There are so many points of connection as we've lived in or visited most of their countries. They are happy to learn what we have to help their ministry and sign up for more information. He has yet to meet someone who won't benefit in some way, even if it is only from the Scriptureearth.org website that locates existing Bible translations per language or country. Today Doug leaves for Incheon, South Korea for the 4th Lausanne Congress on World Evangelism. He and a colleague will be hosting a booth on Bible Translation and Engagement for SIL.
