Join us for our next CCDA West Michigan Local Network Luncheon!

Dear CCDA Community, it is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of 26 year old Jalen Shaffer, who died from a drowning accident over the weekend. Both Shaffer and his friend--Philip Lochirco--died while swimming Lake Michigan near Port Sheldon township. Jalen died while trying to save his friend's life. He served in the community through his role at Bridge Street Ministries. Ryan Waalkes, Executive Director, shares a powerful testimony regarding Jalen's lasting impact. The article is linked here. Our prayers go out out the families of both young men, and for Jalen colleague's at Bridge Street. We mourn Jalen's passing while celebrating his legacy.

The father of 26-year-old Jalen Shaffer, who drowned in Lake Michigan over the weekend, says his son died the way he lived, serving others.
