🌈✨ Kicking Off Pride Month Across Michigan ✨🌈

The Grand Rapids LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consortium is proud to be celebrating the start of Pride Month in community and connection across West Michigan and beyond!

We kicked things off last Saturday at Newaygo Pride, celebrating with community members and partners to honor LGBTQ+ joy, resilience, and visibility. Tonight, we were honored to continue that momentum with an invitation to the 2026 Pride Reception at the Michigan Governor’s Mansion in Lansing.

Our Executive Director, President, and Vice President of the Board of Directors were in attendance, representing our commitment to advancing equitable, affirming healthcare for LGBTQ+ communities. They had meaningful time with Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and fellow advocates and leaders from across the state to help open Pride Month in Michigan.

And we’re not done yet—this week, we’re closing out our Pride kickoff by joining celebrations at Muskegon Pride and Lowell Pride, continuing to show up, support, and stand alongside our communities.

From local celebrations to statewide recognition, we are reminded that this work is powered by connection, visibility, and advocacy. Here’s to a Pride Month rooted in equity, access, and care for all. šŸ’™šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

Honored to attend Flourish, the 10-year anniversary celebration of the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation—a beautiful evening recognizing a decade of community, advocacy, and resilience.
For ten years, this organization has played an essential role in supporting trans and gender-diverse individuals through resources, connection, and affirming care. Celebrating this milestone was a powerful reminder of both the progress made and the continued need to address the health and social inequities affecting trans communities.
Grateful to witness and celebrate a community that continues to grow, uplift, and flourish—and to support the ongoing work toward equity, affirmation, and belonging. 🌸

🌈 We had the opportunity to participate in the 2026 LGBTQ+ Capitol Day on May 13 in Michigan as part of the Grand Rapids LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consortium—a powerful day of advocacy, visibility, and community.
As healthcare professionals and advocates, we know LGBTQ+ communities continue to experience significant health inequities, including barriers to access, discrimination in care settings, and disparities in mental health and preventive services. Being present at the Capitol alongside passionate advocates and community members reinforced the urgent need to address these inequities through policy, education, and affirming clinical practice.
Grateful to represent a collaborative committed to advancing equitable, inclusive care and to engage in conversations that move us toward a healthcare system where all individuals feel seen, respected, and supported. Representation matters—and so does showing up.
