Drodzy Przyjaciele / Dear American Friends!

🇵🇱Już wkrótce Scholares Minores Pro Musica Antiqua wyruszy w swoje 128. tournée zagraniczne. Podczas pobytu w stanie Michigan będziemy reprezentować Polskę, prezentować naszą kulturę i kontynuować tradycję międzynarodowych podróży zespołu, która trwa już ponad 50 lat.

Koszty organizacji takiego wyjazdu są ogromne, dlatego zostały uruchomione dwie zbiórki, dzięki którym można wesprzeć naszą podróż. (Link do zbiórki poniżej ⬇️)

🇺🇸 Soon, Scholares Minores Pro Musica Antiqua will embark on its 128th international tour. During our stay in Michigan, we will represent Poland, share our music and culture, and continue a tradition that has connected people through music for more than 50 years.

The costs of organizing such a tour are significant, which is why two fundraising campaigns have been launched to support our journey. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference and helps us continue this wonderful tradition of cultural exchange through music.

🤝 IT TAKES A COMMUNITY TO BRING DOŻYNKI TO LIFE! 🤝

Planning for the 2026 Dożynki Polish Harvest Festival (August 28-30 at Calder Plaza) is officially underway! As the longest consecutively running ethnic festival in Grand Rapids, this beautiful celebration is entirely volunteer-driven. Simply put: we cannot make the magic happen without hands like yours!

We are looking for dependable volunteers to help us ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether you want to help with logistics, assist in our cultural or children’s areas, support the setup and teardown, or greet guests with a friendly smile, there is a meaningful way for you to get involved.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to give back, connect with neighbors, celebrate Polish heritage, and support our Grand Rapids community. Gather your friends, family, or coworkers and join our festival family!

Just a friendly reminder that our PHS Summer General Membership Meeting is happening tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Knights of St. Casimir Aid Society / 6th Street Hall.

We’ll have plenty of hot dogs, chips, and dessert. Any extra sides or desserts brought to share are always appreciated but never expected.

We are excited to invite all members to our annual Summer General Membership Meeting this Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to catch up with fellow members, celebrate our community, and look toward the future of the Society.

We’ll be sharing a brief history of 6th Street Hall and review important society business, including the official swearing-in of our new board members and the presentation of this year’s scholarship awards.

The PHS will be providing hot dogs, chips, and dessert. Members are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to pass but it is certainly not required.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and dedicated community member, Lucy Maciejewski Preston.

Lucy was a vibrant and cherished part of the Polish Heritage Society, and she served our community with incredible passion as our Busia Queen during her reign in 2023. She generously committed herself to the restoration of the Jackson Street Hall, which was just one of many acts of kindness she offered throughout her life in the community; to be around her warm spirit was truly a beautiful place to be. She famously said that "being Busia Queen means being everyone's Busia," and she lived out those words through her kindness and dedication to our society.

We are holding her entire family close in our hearts during this difficult time. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
