Congratulations to Carla Moore on being selected for the inaugural cohort of the Kent County Nonprofit Leader Sabbatical Program! A 2026 report from the Center for Effective Philanthropy found that nearly half of nonprofit CEOs now cite burnout as a serious concern, up from roughly three in ten just a year earlier — and left unaddressed, it can mean higher turnover and lost institutional knowledge for the organizations they lead. This program provides $50,000 in funding for a 3-4 month sabbatical, giving Carla dedicated time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with the purpose that drew her to this work, while also providing resources to support UMCH during her time away.
