Thank you for agreeing to participate in Preparedness Alley on Wednesday, July 29, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Brewer Park (399 84th St SE, Byron Center, MI 49315). We look forward to sharing preparedness materials and knowledge with our community!
(*Please note, depending on your GPS and the direction you are coming from you may be instructed to drive through a neighborhood to enter the park. Please do not follow these directions and proceed to the park entrance off of 84th St.)
Please take a few minutes to review the information below, as well as the attached information sheet and map before the event.
Arrival & Setup
Please allow enough time to have your table/vehicle fully set up by 3:00 p.m.
We know this is an early setup, but it helps ensure all tables are ready before residents begin arriving and keeps setup traffic out of the event area for everyone's safety.
Drop-Off & Parking
After unloading, please park in the spaces near the park entrance to help keep the parking areas closest to the event available for residents and visitors.
A map showing both the location of Preparedness Alley and parking location is attached.
Dress for the Weather
The event is outdoors, and warm weather is expected.
Please wear professional, weather-appropriate clothing.
If possible, please wear clothing with your organization’s branding.
Come Prepared
We recommend bringing sunscreen, bug spray, and any personal items you'll need to stay comfortable.
If you're displaying flyers or brochures, please bring paperweights or another way to secure them, as Brewer Park can be windy.
Staff Break Area
Kent County has created a designated cooling and break area for staff and preparedness alley volunteers, which will be available throughout the event.
Feel free to rotate with your teammates as needed.
Light snacks and bottled water will be provided for staff and preparedness alley volunteers.
Food
In addition to volunteer snacks and water, two food trucks will be on site with food available for purchase.
Event Updates
We'll email everyone as soon as possible if there are any weather-related changes or other important event updates.
We look forward to seeing you on July 29! Please don’t hesitate to connect with Mindy or Alex if you have any questions.
