When the congregation of in Bradford West Gwillimbury, Ontario, celebrated two hundred years of Presbyterian presence in their area, they returned to their roots and used prayers of a 16th C. English Reformer in their worship. Their minister, Daniel Scott, shared the prayers of adoration, confession, illumination, and intercession written by John Bradford with some updating and abridging, as well as an introduction to Bradford himself.

See how you might be able to use these prayers in your church context: https://reformedworship.org/resource/john-bradford-16th-c-reformer-prayers-john-bradford?_gl=1*t4awnf*_ga*OTg1NjcxMjkyLjE3NzAwNDAyMDA.*_ga_TG6GZNZKMQ*czE3Nzc5OTI1NjQkbzQ4JGcxJHQxNzc3OTk4MDE5JGoxOSRsMCRoMA..

Looking for a fresh prayer of confession and assurance? Reformed Worship is grateful to serve as a platform which shares resources created by the church, for the church. This resource from Hilary Ritchie, minister for worship and the arts at Hope Church Richfield, was written a few years ago, but offers a beautifully grounded set of prayers rooted in the fruits of the Spirit that will never be outdated.

"Leading Worship for Workers" is a great resource for worship planners and leaders looking to bring more of their congregation's day-to-day experiences into Sunday worship. See the link below for CICW's new conversation with Katie Ritsema Roelofs on the heart and impact of this handbook.

If you are interested in more resources about planning worship for workers, see this article from Katie on Reformed Worship called "Songs for Work and Worship"

Even though work takes up so much of our lives, most church services rarely talk about it. No matter the vocation or calling, worker, student, parent, or retiree, "Leading Worship for Workers" gives practical ideas to help churches connect Sunday worship to the everyday work lives of their people.

"We briefly lay out the theology of work and explain how to audit your congregation’s worship practices and main vocations. Our book’s heart and soul invites pastors and worship leaders to experience worship through a worker’s eyes."

Lord, our Creator,
you made us in your own image and invited us into your presence,
but we rejected your call and desired to be made in our own image.
Together we confess we ignore your voice in our lives,
and are unwilling to walk the difficult path of righteousness.
Lord, in your mercy,

Hear our prayer.
