On April 29th, 2016 the Reif Center reopened after an $11 million renovation that added over 15,000 square feet and renovated another 36,000 square feet. And it all began with, “Can’t we add a second women’s bathroom?”

Call for Art: Perform! 🎤🎭🎸

MacRostie Art Center and The Reif are excited to announce Perform!, an open-call group exhibition presenting visual art about the performing arts. Examples of the performing arts include but are not limited to: dance, music, spoken word, and theater.

Artists of any age and level of experience working in any 2-dimensional medium are invited to submit one theme-appropriate, family-friendly piece. The exhibition will also feature a collection of photographs taken by Marija Leilynn while touring with the band Wild Horses.

The exhibition will run from May 11 – July 3, 2026, in the Reif Gallery, located at 720 NW Conifer Drive, Grand Rapids, MN. Perform! is an open call exhibition and there is no fee to participate. Submissions must be received no later than Saturday, May 2, 2026, at MacRostie Art Center. For more information and a copy of the contract, visit:

Here we go again! I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve done Wizard of OZ since I moved to Grand Rapids, I suppose that’s a perk of living in Judy Garland’s birthplace. But our show this year will be bigger and better than ever! This will be the first time that Reif Theater Arts will do the full-length version!
