🚨Temporary trail closure alert

Monday, October 12 through Thursday, October 22, the Fred Meijer Berry Junction Trail will be closed between Giles Rd and N Whitehall Rd for a bridge repair project.

Barricades will be in place at both road intersections, and the bridge will be closed to through traffic.

WMT Program Manager Jennifer Antel is in Traverse City today with Julie from TART Trails and Erica from Rails to Trails Conservancy, sharing ideas for securing and protecting funding that keeps local trails green, growing, and accessible for the long haul.

We’re always glad to learn, share, and connect with fellow trail advocates across Michigan!

Trail community! We need your votes!

The Fruitridge Ave over I-96 Rebuild and Modernization project earned the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Quality of Life/Community Development Award and is now in the running for The Grand Prize and The People’s Choice Award!

You may remember that almost a year ago, a 20+ year vision of connecting the White Pine, Musketawa, and Kent Trails into a more connected regional network became reality.

The nonmotorized path along the Fruitridge Ave Bridge over I-96, creates an important connection for bikers and walkers across West Michigan and we are excited to see it serve our communities for generations to come.

And that’s a wrap on Trail Mixers!

We enjoyed connecting with you all so much that we forgot to take more photos from the evening! 😳😵‍💫🫠

So, even if you aren’t featured, a huge thanks to each and every one of you that joined us at our final Trail Mixer in Grand Haven. We had a wonderful time at Off the Chain (go there; get a drink), connected to Loose Spokes Bicycle Shop (you know you want to visit), with tasty food from The Unicorn Tavern (can’t go wrong with anything you order), plenty of trail talk, and lots of new connections!

And of course, thank you Cari Draft for championing our mission and being an advocate for the trails!
