We want this organization to bring joy to other children with special needs and their families. If you have found this page, you either knew Caleb, or you wanted to learn more about a non-profit organization formed to help serve the needs of children with disabilities. Caleb Amir was our son, and he passed away November 2018 after battling many issues with Hydranencephaly, the condition he was bor
n with. He was a fighter, and he never stopped laughing and smiling and bringing joy to anyone he met. Although Caleb had challenges to face everyday, to meet him, you would never know any of that affected him. He loved people. He would rather sit next to you and clap your hand instead of being busy with toys or tv! Raising a child with a disability has its obvious challenges, like finding adequate transportation for a wheelchair, safe transfer issues, and fighting with insurance to approve the equipment you need in your home to make life manageable. It's rare that families with child(ren) with disabilities are granted many opportunities for fun and adventurous activities. Even "fun" equipment is hard to come by, as insurance typically doesn't cover it, and non-essential equipment that is marketed towards the special needs community is extremely expensive. Caleb Smiles was formed to help families get access to fun activities, equipment, and other things that they may not have the budget for. We plan to raise money through various fundraising events, including walks, restaurant partnerships, and donations. We can't thank you enough for being here, and supporting our mission. You are appreciated more than you know!
