About a year ago, we spoke with media partners like WGVU to share the launch of our HSA data dashboard to elevate the voices, leadership, and lived experiences of our community. Through our dashboard, metric library, and data primers, we are using data-driven insights to help move the needle toward real solutions for the challenges facing Kent County.

Our solution-oriented priorities and commitment to advancing housing equity for all are helping facilitate countywide conversations and inform decision-making among leaders across Kent County. Gathering with Warner Norcross + Judd last June highlighted the expertise they bring and demonstrated how our efforts in data collection, coordination, and alignment can intersect to drive meaningful housing systems change.

Housing in Kent County isn’t just about rising prices, it’s about making sure people can live near jobs, services, and the communities they call home.

With tens of thousands of new housing units needed, much of the available land today lacks the infrastructure to support the kind of growth our region needs.

Through the Kent County Corridor Strategy, Housing Kent is partnering with local governments to unlock underutilized land in the right places, where housing can be built more efficiently and sustainably.

With 8 projects underway and a goal of 16, we’re working together to create a more affordable and accessible future for our community. Visit our data dashboard to learn more: https://housingkent.org/hsa-data-dashboard/

Planting trees isn’t just good for the planet, it can increase property values, lower energy costs through natural shade, and reduce temperatures, improving the overall health and wellness of a community.

Celebrate Earth Day by helping grow these benefits locally. Kent County Parks Department tree planting event takes place Wednesday, April 22, at Millennium Park (North Kent Trailhead) from 9 AM to 4 PM, including tree planting, clean-ups, and park projects. Visit the link below to learn more!

Strong housing outcomes don’t happen in silos. Policy, investment, and collaboration must align to create lasting impact for Kent County residents and ensure resources reach the communities that need them most.

While $301 million in annual public and philanthropic housing investment may seem significant, it represents only a small share of the broader housing market’s economic activity, underscoring the need for strategic alignment and cross-sector partnership.

Housing stability is foundational to economic mobility and community well-being. Learn more in our State of Housing Report on our website: https://bit.ly/4hO8plS
