Olivia’s Gift is a model for nonprofit residential living for adults with severe disabilities. This first-of-its-kind apartment style living was inspired by Olivia Henrickson, designed by her architect father and brought into being through generous support of many—family, friends, community, church, and the families of others with severe disabilities. Olivia was three years old when a near-drownin

g left her unable to walk, talk, or care for her most basic needs. But she blossomed under the nurturance of home and the advanced therapeutic programs and equipment available in her public school. Today, as she reaches adulthood, her family—along with countless others like them—faces the next challenge in their journey. How to continue to provide the level of support, stimulation, and interaction that their children received in their schools, once they are no longer eligible for educational services. A forward-thinking, apartment style living center at 5040 Cascade Road, Michigan. Olivia’s Gift is an inspiring, repeatable, and much-needed model for providing celebrated living for adults with serious disabilities.

Check out some of the cool community outings we’ve been on this month!

Last week’s “Grillin’ for Good” Bash reminded us exactly who we are.

The weather may not have been what we hoped for, but our community showed up anyway. Families, friends, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and neighbors all came together with smiles, laughter, and a shared belief in our mission.

At Olivia’s Gift, our mission has never been about waiting for perfect circumstances, but about finding joy in the moment, creating connection, and moving forward together, no matter what challenges come our way. The 2026 Bash was a beautiful reflection of that spirit.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and cheered us on. A special thank you to our incredible sponsors for making this event possible, The Beanpoles for keeping the energy high and the dance floor full, and Saladino Smoke for serving up amazing food despite the rain.

We are once again overwhelmed by your generosity and support. Because of you, Olivia’s Gift can continue creating opportunities, building community, and celebrating life’s moments - rain or shine.

Thank you for believing in us. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Tomorrow is the day! The weather still has time to change, but in the event of rain, we are prepared! We have a large tent (with sides!) and lots of auction items and handmade goodies to shop INDOORS!

Don’t worry about standing outside to wait for food in the rain. The only thing slow about Saladino Smoke is how long they smoke their meats! Trust us, you need to try it. You won’t wait long, but there will be tents to keep you dry while you order!
