SAVE THE DATE — SABOTAGE: An Evening of Resistance, Remembrance, & Conversation

Join us Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Temple Emanuel, 1715 Fulton St E, for a Kosher Deli Night and a screening of Sabotage, a film by Noa Aharoni.
Kosher Deli Night with desserts, generously sponsored by Bluma Herman and the Herman Family Fund. Thanks to their generosity, dinner and the movie are free for everyone. Piled-high deli, dessert, and good company — come hungry.

On August 11, 2026, members of Detroit's Women's Philanthropy visited Meijer Gardens, where they were welcomed by Linda Pestka, daughter of Holocaust survivor Henry Pestka, and Nicole Katzman, Executive Director of JFGR. The group gathered before the garden's striking metal tree sculpture, its fractured glass branches catching the light, as Linda shared her father's story and the meaning behind the artwork.
It was a powerful reminder of how a single sculpture can carry the weight of memory and resilience across generations — and a meaningful bridge between communities. Thank you to all who made the visit so special.
