✈️ A new pathway is taking flight for future aviators at West Michigan Aviation Academy.

Yesterday, WMAA and Western Michigan University celebrated a partnership that provides guaranteed admission opportunities for qualified WMAA students who wish to continue their aviation education through WMU's nationally recognized College of Aviation.

For students pursuing careers in aviation, this partnership creates a direct pathway from WMAA to one of the nation's leading collegiate aviation programs, helping them continue building the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to achieve their goals.

We're proud to partner with Western Michigan University to create expanded opportunities for our students and help prepare the next generation of aviation professionals.

The future of aviation is bright, and it starts with students who are ready to soar.

✈️✨ A Week of Connection, Inspiration, and Recognition
This week, West Michigan Aviation Academy had the privilege of being part of the National Charter Schools Institute Bold by Choice Summit and Bold By Design Gala here in Grand Rapids.

We were proud to share more about WMAA at the Summit through presentations from members of our leadership team, and to welcome two groups representing charter schools from 11+ states—including authorizers, Departments of Education, and school leaders—for tours of our campus.

We were humbled and honored in a truly special moment as WMAA was recognized at the Bold By Design Gala, receiving the Pathways to Opportunity Award—recognizing organizations that create clear, meaningful connections between learning and life beyond the classroom.

We are grateful to the National Charter Schools Institute for an incredible week of collaboration and inspiration.

This recognition reflects the work of our entire WMAA community. Together, we are building a model where students don’t just learn—they prepare for real futures through hands-on experiences, industry connections, and meaningful credentials.
