First & Second Thrift Store All our workers are volunteers, and all the profits go to local nonprofit organizations. 1st and 2nd is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization staffed by volunteers.

All our profits go to local nonprofit organizations (chosen by the volunteers). Proceeds from the sale of donated goods are distributed annually to nonprofit organizations in Cook County.

We have a FREE turnstyle slat wall unit for anyone willing to pick it up. We'll include 20 slatwall hooks, about 6" long. the unit stands about 4 1/2 feet high with a base 18" square. The slatwall is 11" square and the entire unit is on wheels. It's in the rest room at the store. PLEASE come to pick it up if you can use it.
