Brothers,
It is with profound sadness, yet with faith in the immortality of the soul, that I inform you that our dear Brother, Most Worshipful Brother Larry Judson, has forever laid down the Working Tools of life and has been called from labor to refreshment in that Celestial Lodge above.
While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he has heard from Him who sits as Judge Supreme those blessed and welcomed words:
"Well done, good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
Most Worshipful Brother Judson was more than a distinguished Mason. He was an Honorary Member of Grand Ledge Lodge No. 179 and a true friend to the Craft. His presence brought light into every room he entered. He possessed an infectious spirit, a ready smile, and an unwavering willingness to help others. No matter the circumstance, if a Brother needed something, Larry answered the call with kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine care.
Many of us will forever remember the traditions he helped create and the memories he left behind. It was MWB Larry who began his famous "Judson Tie" tradition with our own Worshipful Brother Joel Ruiz. What may have seemed a simple gesture became a lasting symbol of friendship, mentorship, and brotherly affection.
I personally cherish one such memory. At my installation, MWB Larry presented me with a tie and more importantly, he took the time to tie it around my son's neck himself. It was a simple moment. No ceremony. No fanfare. Just Larry being Larry. That tie remains one of my son's treasured possessions to this day, not merely because it is a tie, but because it represents the love, kindness, and attention that MWB Larry so freely gave to others. That was Larry's way: making people feel important, valued, and remembered.
And who among us can forget that he was the first Grand Master to enjoy the hospitality of Lindsay's Bar? It is a memory that still brings smiles and laughter, reminding us that Masonry isn’t just about meetings and ritual. It is about fellowship. It is about gathering together, sharing stories, enjoying one another's company, and strengthening the bonds that unite us as Brothers.
His legacy is not found only in the offices he held or the honors he earned. It is found in the lives he touched, the friendships he forged, the encouragement he offered, and the countless acts of kindness that often went unnoticed except by those who received them. He embodied the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth in a way that inspired all who knew him.
Today, we mourn his loss, but we also celebrate a life well lived. We celebrate a Mason who served faithfully, loved deeply, laughed often, and left our fraternity stronger because he was a part of it.
Though the gavel has fallen silent and his earthly labors are complete, the influence of Most Worshipful Brother Larry Judson will continue to echo through all Lodge rooms, our traditions, and our memories for generations to come.
May the Grand Architect of the Universe grant comfort to his family, strength to his friends, and peace to all Brothers who mourn his passing.
Farewell, Most Worshipful Brother. Your work is done, your wages earned, and your place in our hearts forever secured.
Fraternally,
Worshipful Master Raymone Gude
Judson Tie Guy
