🌍 Wrapping Up World Chimpanzee Day/week 2026 🐵💚

What an inspiring week of celebrating our closest living relatives!

This World Chimpanzee Day, we collaborated with our wildlife clubs, conservation stakeholders, and local communities to raise awareness about the importance of protecting chimpanzees and their forest habitat.

To wrap up the celebrations, our Wildlife Clubs hosted experts from the Kibale Chimpanzee Project and the Uganda Wildlife Authority, who shared valuable insights into chimpanzee behavior and health, emphasizing the need for their protection and conservation. The discussions raised awareness about the dangers of setting snares in Kibale National Park.

Through a mix of engaging classroom and outdoor sessions, students conveyed chimpanzee conservation messages creatively, using poems, posters they crafted, dances, songs, and skits.
These interactions inspire future conservation leaders and are a highlight of our annual events.

We extend our gratitude to the Uganda Wildlife Authority, Kibale Chimpanzee Project, Snare Removal Team, wildlife veterinarians, our wildlife clubs, and all partners for their support in making this year’s celebrations a success.

🌍🐵 Happy World Chimpanzee Day! 🐵🌿

Today, we celebrate our closest living relatives and renew our commitment to protecting the forests they call home.

At the Kasiisi Project and Kibale Forest School Program, we believe that conserving chimpanzees starts with investing in the people who share their landscape. Through education, community partnerships, and environmental stewardship, we work alongside schools and communities surrounding Kibale National Park to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders.

Every child who learns about wildlife, every tree planted, and every community empowered helps create a brighter future for chimpanzees and the incredible biodiversity of Uganda.

On this World Chimpanzee Day, join us in celebrating these remarkable great apes and the communities working to ensure they continue to thrive for generations to come.
💚 Together, education and conservation can protect chimpanzees—and the forests we all depend on.

For 30 years, the Disney Conservation Fund has supported organizations with communities to protect wildlife, inspire action, and promote environmental resilience- including The Kasiisi Project. With support from Disney, over 750 students in 16 Primary schools neighbouring Kibale National Park will be trained in conservation, restoration, and environmental leadership over the next two years.
We appreciate the Disney Conservation Fund for investing in youth-driven solutions. 💡
We wish the Disney Conservation Fund a happy 30th Birthday!
