Signs have been picked up from around the mountain, thank you to On The Trail for their help. Gates are closed to motorized vehicles until the road surface dries out or June 15th. If we get at least 6" of snow, snowmobiles can ride around closed gates to access the trail. Groomer phone: (970) 531-8872

Unfortunately snow at trailheads has melted quickly. Gates at Idleglen are closed to motorized vehicles until the roads dry out. If we get at least 6" of snow, snowmobilers my ride around the gate to access trails. Groomer phone: (970) 531-8872

We got 6” in Idleglen, warmth of the day took that down to 4”. Up high maybe 8-9”, wind and drifts possibly skewing measurement accuracy. Upper trails are still holding snow. Lower trails, near trailheads, snow is very thin with dirt showing through on the trail. Kawuneeche from Idleglen will get you to consistent snow quicker than Stillwater. Town trail remains closed due to lack of snow and warm weather through the winter in that area. Please check https://avalanche.state.co.us for avalanche danger before you ride, thank you.
Groomed all of Kawuneeche from Idleglen to Chicken Hill. Down Pony Park trail. Around Gold Run loop which is in excellent condition, last two pictures. Through Gravel to Stillwater Pass and down to the Gilsonite turnoff, which should mitigate the majority of the drifting back there for tomorrow. Up to the pass again, down from “P” to “I”, up Pony Park trail, and returned to Idleglen on Kawuneeche. At 5:15am skies are mostly clear with 5° at lake level. Groomed trails tonight brought to you by Humphreys Grand Lake, thank you for your continued support!

Spring conditions prevail. Warm days and cool nights with plenty of sunshine. Trailheads and lower trails are thin with exposed areas. Kawuneeche has more consistent snow about 4 corners from Idleglen, while on Stillwater it’s about 4 miles to consistent snow. Upper elevations still holding snow well. Please check https://avalanche.state.co.us for avalanche danger before you ride, thank you.
We got enough of a freeze to get out tonight, thank you to TJ for helping. Trails we had groomed previously were ridden, while grooming is holding. Town trail is closed with lack of snow in that area. Skijoring continues tomorrow in Grand Lake! (970) 531-8872

We got 4” of snow in Idleglen last night, however no freeze with cloud the cover, and was too warm to groom last night. A light dusting in town. It was in the 50’s today so not much of that new snow sticks around at lower elevations. Very windy today and into this evening. We are waiting of it to freeze to groom tonight, if it doesn’t freeze with all the cloud cover, we’ll try to get out if it freezes on Thursday night. Upper elevations probably did better as we are in an avalanche warning currently, please check https://avalanche.state.co.us for avalanche danger before you ride, thank you. Skijoring in Grand Lake this weekend, come and check out some wild horse and skier action! Groomer phone: (970) 531-8872

Cleaned up after a busy Sunday, with Idleglen parking lot overflowing again! Snow up high saw minimal effect from weather today, still soft and holding winter conditions, picture. The north side of Stillwater Pass was groomed Saturday night almost to the Lost Lake turnoff, holds snow very well, and has seen much less traffic. Upper elevations have much better snow than trailheads. Lower elevations are thin with some dirt showing through. Clear skies tonight with 7° by the lake at 1am. Town trail remains closed due to low snow on that area.

What a day to be riding! Check out today’s riding footage by Jeremy Mercer of around Grand Lake to see why you should be here tomorrow, thank you Jeremy! Bluebird and fresh snow combined for one of the best days of the season so far. Great to see the parking lot overflowing and lots of snowmobilers enjoying the day.
We are groomed up and ready for you to ride tomorrow. Groomed Kawuneeche from almost Idleglen to Chicken Hill, and got up the Shortcuts, this trail in excellent shape. Groomed Pony Park, and down to Trail creek on lower Stillwater. Thin, but rideable below that, however not enough snowpack to groom. Groomed out all of Gold Run loop, also in great shape. Through Gravel and over Stillwater Pass to get down almost to Lost Lake turnoff. Town trail remains close due to low snow in that area. Please check https://avalanche.state.co.us for avalanche danger before you ride, thank you.

Nice little refresh at upper elevations with another 6” in the past 24 hours. Two feet of fresh, more in areas, up high. Snow quality up top is very nice! Lower elevations got maybe an inch in the past 24 hours, lower trails, are thin but rideable. Please check https://avalanche.state.co.us for avalanche danger before you ride, thank you.

Gold Run Loop is now cut open, however the top section, "W" to "X", is just track marks, we’ll get ribbon set in here tomorrow. Lower Gold Run Loop is corduroy. Got J-H broken open. Climbed North Supply Trail, AKA the Shortcuts, to break it open. On the return trip we were able to go down it, laying down the ribbon, this is the trail to ride to access Chicken Hill, Pony Park and beyond tomorrow!

In addition to the above, we also got lower Kawuneeche from Idleglen to “D,” North Suppy to the ATV trail, Pony Park, around Gravel Mtn Loop, and down to Trail Creek on lower Stillwater, past that we start blading into rocks, but is rideable. Town trail remains closed due to low snow in that area. Video of snow fall at "W", and in our starship for a time lapse across Gravel!

Tonight’s groomed trails brought to you by map sponsor Gravel Mountain Land Services, thank you for your continued support!
