September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. In our latest podcast, Katie and Hali sit down with Christina Ryan, Su***de Prevention Program Supervisor for the VA Western Colorado Healthcare System, to talk veteran su***de prevention.
Later in the episode, they also check in with Jennifer Vasquez of the Western Colorado Area Health Education Center about substance use in the Grand Valley: naloxone kiosks, rising kratom use, and how the Mesa County Opioid Response Group is getting resources into rural communities.

Our interns bring fresh energy, big hearts, and a genuine commitment to showing up for the Grand Valley community. We're so glad to have them learning and growing alongside us.

Some of our favorite work happens outside the therapy room.

Last week, CEC therapist Brandon Daniels helped lead a breakout session at the Grand Junction Area Chamber's YP Summit, walking a room full of young professionals through how to have difficult conversations with more clarity, courage, and respect.

Turns out a lot of what helps in therapy helps at work too: staying grounded, listening well, and knowing how to say the hard thing kindly.

Proud of Brandon for showing up and sharing what he knows with the Grand Valley community.
