Neighbors - we are looking for volunteers on Sept. 11 ... which is a Thursday (we realize that some of you on this list may have other obligations, like jobs). The volunteerism requires you to sit in a chair in Sherwood Park and be a 'sidewalk safety monitor' while City Foresters and the entirety of the GJ Tree Service Industry 'em-bark' (pun intended) on a day of tree pruning / camaraderie / education / and fun in tending to the long neglected pruning needs of trees in Sherwood Park. This is a dream of neighbor Tom Ziola's, who planted around 80 of these trees in his youth. These tree professionals will be concentrating on the northern third of Sherwood Park in this 'first' of what will hopefully become an annual event. If you are interested in helping all or part of the day, I am coordinating the Sherwood Park volunteers. Hard hats, vests, and lunch included. Let me know and I will provide additional details.

Thanks to everyone for another great Sherwood Park night out. Though it wasn’t the “official” national night out, it was a great reminder that we never need a formal reason to enjoy each other’s company! 😀😀 Thanks to First Christian Church (on the south side of the park) for great music and tasty hot dogs!!

Hello friends! Please join us on Tuesday, August 22 from 5:30-7:00pm at Sherwood Park’s large shelter (by the playground) for a neighborhood night out!

Meet your neighbors/community members; enjoy a hot dog and ice cream; listen to some live music; and celebrate our beloved park and the awesome people who enjoy it!

All are welcome and there is no cost to attend.

UPDATE: found his family and returned him. 😀

Found this sweet pup wandering the streets of Sherwood Park today. He has no collar or tags (those in the photo are ours so we could guide him safely off the street). Please PM if you know where this little guy belongs. Thanks!

Friends of Sherwood Park Association

The Friends of Sherwood Park organized in early 2019, originally intending to address the safety of the park for close neighbors and businesses. Since then, community members have identified other values and goals of the group, and the idea to form a neighborhood association sprouted. Rather than focusing on concerns, the Friends of Sherwood Park wanted to form the neighborhood association around the positive aspects of our community that we would like to grow and enhance. The values of the Friends of Sherwood Park Association (FoSPA) are (listed in no particular order): friendship, community, accessibility, inclusivity, networking, welcoming, nature, playing, open space, well-being, exercise and recreation, ambiance, family, gathering, safety, relaxation, enjoyment, and balance.

Mission: The Friends of Sherwood Park Association is a collaboration of individuals and businesses working to enhance the overall quality of life in and around Sherwood Park.
