September Impact Recap

In August, Foster Alumni Mentors continued to build community, create opportunities, and support alumni in powerful ways. Here's just a glimpse of what we accomplished together:

Today is World Mental Health Day, and we want to say this clearly:

Your mental health matters. 💙

To our alumni especially - you have carried things that most people will never fully understand. That weight is real, and taking care of your mind is not optional. It's essential.

Therapy isn't a last resort. Asking for help isn't weakness. Setting boundaries isn't selfish. Taking a mental health day isn't lazy.

Whatever taking care of your mental health looks like for you today - a phone call, a journal entry, a therapy session, a walk outside, or just permission to rest - we hope you give yourself that.

You are worth the work it takes to feel whole.

You matter. You are not alone. 💙

🌟 Starfish Sunday 🌟

Did you know? Starfish have an incredible ability to regenerate. If they lose an arm, they can grow it back. Some species can even regrow an entirely new body from just one arm.

They don't just survive loss. They rebuild from it.

To our alumni: You have been through things that would break most people. And yet here you are - rebuilding, growing, becoming.

You are not defined by what you lost. You are defined by what you're building.

And we are so honored to watch you grow. 💙🌟

That's what this FAMily is built on - lifting each other up instead of comparing journeys.

We are grateful to offer the FYI housing vouchers through our local Grand Junction Housing Authority and partner with local agencies to strengthen opportunities for stability when youth leave foster care.
