Shout out to our partners and the Grand Junction, CO Broadband ✨
The Grand Junction broadband starts on the west at the Colorado Utah border, on the north to Garfield county, east to Deb, and South to Delta. They are pleased to have the northern San Juan broadband to the south and share some members with them.
They are focused on land, restoration, wilderness, monitoring, as well as public education and awareness building.
Some of their past and ongoing projects include:
-Commenting on the proposed Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the National Forest Service covering the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests
-wilderness monitoring for both the National Forest Service and the BLM field office
-cooperative letterwriting campaigns for environmental advocacy
-Stewardship projects of receding and replanting on clothes trails after collecting native seed during the summer months
-Partnering with Mount Garfield eighth graders, BLM, Colorado, Archaeological Society, and the Northern Ute Tribe for a field day, learning about the value and preservation of rock art
🗓️ Join the GJ Broadband for an upcoming event this Monday, February 26 from six to 7:30 PM where historian and explorer, Steve Allen, will be presenting,“50 years in the canyons”— about His many years investigating the Canyon country of Southern Utah
