Today, the Grand Isle Fire Department and Grand Isle Emergency Services are proud to recognize Jordan Mathew for his outstanding bravery, selflessness, and quick actions.

When three individuals found themselves in danger of drowning at the beach, Jordan didn’t hesitate. His courage and immediate response helped save three lives, demonstrating incredible composure and a true willingness to help others in their time of need.

Acts like Jordan’s remind us that heroes aren’t defined by titles—they’re defined by their actions. His courage, compassion, and commitment to helping others embody the very spirit of our community.

On behalf of the Grand Isle Fire Department and Grand Isle Emergency Services, we extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Jordan for his heroic efforts. Your actions made a life-changing difference, and we are honored to recognize you for your bravery.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our new administration for their leadership, support, and commitment to making our community stronger.

We also want to recognize our Fire Chief and every member of the Grand Isle Fire Department for their dedication, professionalism, and countless hours of hard work that helped improve our community’s Public Protection Classification (PPC/ISO) fire rating from a Class 5 to a Class 4.

This achievement didn’t happen overnight. It is the result of teamwork, planning, training, and the unwavering commitment of our firefighters and leadership to provide the highest level of fire protection for our residents and visitors.

A better fire rating is an accomplishment our entire community can be proud of. It not only reflects the quality of our fire protection but may also help homeowners and businesses qualify for lower insurance premiums.

Congratulations to everyone who played a part in this achievement. Your dedication, sacrifice, and service to Grand Isle do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do to keep our community safe. The future of the Grand Isle Fire Department is bright, and together we will continue working to make our department and our community even stronger.

Today was a great reminder that our community is strongest when we come together. Thank you to everyone who participated, showed their support, and took the time to learn life-saving skills.

Learning how to save a life is one of the most valuable things you can do, and your commitment to being prepared could one day make all the difference for a family, friend, neighbor, or even a stranger.

On behalf of all of us, thank you for your continued support and for helping make our community a safer place. We appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to seeing you at future events!
