The Grand Isle Fire Department would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone from the public, volunteers, and neighboring agencies who came out to support our beach water safety event.

It was a great day spent educating our community and visitors about the importance of water safety, rip currents, and staying safe while enjoying our beautiful beaches. Events like these would not be possible without the support and participation from our community.

Thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort, and to everyone who stopped by to learn and show support. Together, we continue working toward keeping Grand Isle safe for everyone.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

The Grand Isle Fire Department prides itself on being a professional department run by professionals. In response to recent social media posts spreading false information about the department, we want the public to know that this administration has made significant strides in improving the department’s financial standing and overall operations.

This administration has demonstrated leadership and professionalism to Jefferson Parish by successfully managing and meeting the department’s financial obligations to the fullest extent. One of our greatest accomplishments has been regaining full control of the department’s finances, which had been taken away two administrations ago by Jefferson Parish.

We will continue to operate to the best of our ability and remain committed to providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency services to the citizens of Grand Isle.

Since taking office, this administration and board have accomplished several major improvements for the department, including:

Purchasing a new ambulance that is expected to be delivered within the next few months.
Purchasing a new fire truck that is also expected to arrive within the next few months.
Receiving a brand-new Ford F-350 pickup truck donated by a private donor.
Having our rescue boat professionally repainted at no labor cost thanks to another private donor.

These accomplishments were made possible through the hard work and dedication of an outstanding fire department board, along with the support of our administrative assistant who was hired when the new board was put in place.

This statement is in no way intended to condemn or discredit any past administration. It is simply meant to highlight the accomplishments and progress made by the current board and administration since taking office.

We remain focused on moving the department forward in a positive direction and serving the community of Grand Isle with professionalism, accountability, and pride.

The Grand Isle Fire Department is proud to partner with the Lafourche Fire Department and the Golden Meadow Beta Club in support of their beach cleanup program.

Working together, we are committed to protecting not only our community, but also the natural beauty of our coastline. This initiative is a great example of what can be accomplished when organizations and young leaders come together for a common cause.

We want to extend a big thank you to the members of the Golden Meadow Beta Club for stepping up and taking pride in keeping our beaches clean. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Partnerships like this strengthen our community and help ensure that Grand Isle remains a place we can all be proud of.

The Grand Isle Fire Department will be partnering with the Blueboot rodeo and the Grand Isle Police Department, we will be on the beach throughout the summer. Location and times will be posted here ahead of every weekend. We will be handing out cold waters and teaching safety tips on water survival, under-toes, etc and PDF (life vest) comfort.
