We are still celebrating the outstanding Appaloosa youth who received scholarships in 2026, but building a program like this takes planning, partnership, and time. That means it is not too early to begin preparing for 2027.

A Spot For The Future plans to award another 16 scholarships at the 2027 Youth World Championship Showโ€”two $500 scholarships in each of eight divisionsโ€”for a total annual investment of $8,000 in Appaloosa youth.

There are several ways to help us begin building that commitment now:
โ€ข $500 funds one complete scholarship
โ€ข $1,000 funds both scholarships in one division
โ€ข Gifts of any amount help strengthen the scholarship fund
โ€ข Monthly giving provides dependable support throughout the year

Starting early allows us to secure the full 2027 scholarship commitment, recognize our partners, and continue investing in the young people who are the future of the Appaloosa community and equine industry.

Thank you to the Nebraska Appaloosa Club (NAC) for hosting an NHCA Pointed Show, and to all exhibitors who made the trip to Broken Bow and the Custer County Fairgrounds to support the event.

It was great having the show arena and warm-up area all under one roof, along with convenient camper hookups located near the stalls and arena.

Congratulations to all the Hi-Point and Reserve Hi-Point Winners!

A special shout-out to all the volunteers who helped make this show a successโ€”your time, hard work, and dedication are truly appreciated!

The next stop on the NHCA Open Show Circuit is Albion on June 27โ€“28. We hope to see everyone there for another great weekend of showing! ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ†

No rain here in Broken Bow, ๐ŸŒž with a touch of a breeze! Perfect showing weather! Judges are here, cattle classes start at 8am for the Nebraska Appalossa Show. Indoor arena looks good and warm up area inside, as well. Weekends were made for horse shows!

We are hoping to clear up some confusion and answer a few questions regarding the upcoming NHCA show being hosted by the Nebraska Appaloosa Club in Broken Bow.

While this show is being put on by the Nebraska Appaloosa Club, you do not have to have an Appaloosa to participate in the NHCA classes. All NHCA rules will apply to the NHCA classes listed on the show bill, just as they always do, so any horse may be shown in those classes. (Of course, if you have a registered Appaloosa, the Appaloosa Club would love to have you join them as well!)

This is a double-judge show, meaning you will show to two judges and receive two sets of placings and two sets of points toward NHCA year-end awards.

There will be no payback at this show; however, the Nebraska Appaloosa Club will be awarding a High Point Award in each age group, which are very nice hat cans for the winners.

We appreciate everyone reaching out with questions and are glad we can help clarify things. We are looking forward to a great turnout!

Please note: The first five classes on the show bill are Appaloosa cattle classes and will take some time to complete. Because of this, we do not anticipate the first NHCA class beginning until approximately 9:30 a.m. or later. There will be time available for exhibitors to warm up in the arena prior to the start of the NHCA classes.

We hope this helps answer some of the questions we've been receiving. We look forward to seeing everyone in Broken Bow!
