Ever had your mind go ABSOLUTELY BLANK when asked a question? 😳

Us too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's why we practice giving impromptu responses every single week! ✨️

Normally, we do something called "Table Topics," where we respond to thought-provoking questions. Today, we had a special visitor from Dr. V, who had us respond to inkblots. 💦🫨🧐😵‍💫🤔

It was a really fun way to mix up the way we work on improvised responses - thanks for the visit, Dr V! 😁

📣Today is National Optimist Day!

We spent the morning focusing on positive aspects of our lives and the positive results we can expect when we adopt healthy mindsets around our areas for growth. ✨️

We also listened to a talk from club member Tom on indigenous reparations, and we learned from club member Sam all about the hottest new winter olympic sport: skimo! (ski mountaineering) ⛷️

We know how important it is to build confidence along with skills. Our evaluations always include ways the speaker already shines and ways the speaker could shine even brighter. 🌟

Did we mention our club includes a champion evaluator!? Club member Robyn Gordon Schopp won 1st place in an evaluation contest in 2024 against other skilled evaluators from all over Michigan! 🏆

Today is ! We had two speakers who talked about their pets and shared some pet joy. 💖🐾💖

Congratulations to Oliver on winning Best Speaker today! Oliver gave a speech on how "Nothing is Free," including a dog who was gifted to him and has incurred lots of vet bills and costs to replace stuff thats been chewed up. 😬

Another congratulations to Justin for his THIRD WEEK IN A ROW winning 2 awards! He won today for Best Evaluator and Best Table Topics. 🏆🏆🏆

Our theme for this week's meeting was MOVIES! 📽🎬🎞

Our resident comedian, Justin, argued that Will Smith Tried to Ruin Science Fiction movies. His speech was well-researched and hilarious! He won the award for Best Speech this week.

Next week, our meeting falls on so our theme will be PETS! 🐾

Stop by St Pat's in Grand Haven (920 Fulton St) at 7:30am to check out our weekly meeting! We wrap up by 8:30am and are always charged up for the rest of the day.

What a great morning! Tom showed us how using bags on your feet can keep them dry and keep the smell from offending others 🦨. Sam taught us different ways we can care for our feathered friends in the winter. 🐦

Our club has hit the ground running this year. Have you? Would you like some support and community in trying to reach any goals you have with better communication or leadership skills? We're here for you! 🤝

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from your local Toastmasters club! ❤️🎄💚 A few of our members love to deck themselves out with Christmas wear this time of year.

Another Christmas tradition with our club comes from Sam, our resident Christmas Enthusiast. Each December, she shares the origin story of a different Christmas carol. This year, she covered her favorite: O Holy Night. 🎶✝️🌙
