Unemployment is at a record low, but that doesn’t mean all who want work can find meaningful employment. For those with mental or physical disabilities, the challenge of finding a job that meets their needs and honors their gifts is a burden not lifted by a good economy. These individuals need an opportunity and a community to help them get started. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that will
act as an advocate for, and provide meaningful employment and job skills to, people with special needs. The first official program offered by BErista Inc. Named after the organizer’s niece Makenzie Aney, Kenzie’s BE Cafe will be the 4th café open with the Brody’s BE Cafe mission:
To provide a safe and enjoyable work environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental delays along with other special needs. To create a place of acceptance for all people in the community; a place to receive, and give back. Brody’s be Café [Kenzie’s BE Cafe] will provide an opportunity for people with, and without special needs, to work together. This cafe will provide a place where everyone can come together to feel purpose, importance, and to realize that we aren’t all that different on the inside. Kenzie’s will operate out of the Crescent Theater building located at 1103 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Like the individuals we will serve, this organization needs community support to make this opportunity a success. The capital necessary for the first year of operations will build a program that provides connection and confidence for its team members… not to mention a great cup of coffee for its patrons. Donations start at $50, with donation levels up to $10,000+. Your meaningful contribution will make a lasting impact on our community and the individuals that we will serve. Thank you in advance for your support! Board Members
