Residents of Rugby,

Friday May 8th Strata’s subcontractor will be shutting down water services for houses along 1st street and 2nd street. Notices for this shut off should have already gone out to affected residents. Strata’s subcontractor expects this shutoff to run from 8 AM to 5 PM. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I have attached a map of the area affected to this post.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Thank you!

I want to remind the community, beginning Monday, May 4th, Knife River will be closing ND 3 again from 4th street to 1st street. 1st street will be a lighted intersection with one way traffic only. We plan to have the intersections of 4th, 3rd, and 2nd open to traffic with stop signs.

I will update this page weekly for the duration of the remaining work on this project.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Residents of Rugby,

Strata has finished pouring concrete for the year. We completed all the mainline from 4th street to 2nd street, as well as half of 1st street. We have also finished temporary asphalt from 1st to 2nd street going under the underpass.

Our subcontractor has started putting in signs throughout the project. Our striping subcontractor will be working Saturday to paint their lines for traffic. Temporary mulch will happen Monday the 24th.

Once all these finishing touches have been completed and we get the go ahead from the DOT, we will open ND 3 for the winter.

Keep in mind that we will be back next year to finish the rest of this project.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Residents of Rugby,

Strata’s subcontractor is finished digging pipe and has completed backfilling for this year.

Our other subcontractor has begun removing H-piles from the shoring location underneath the underpass.

Strata is continuing to pour concrete on 1st street and from 3rd street to 2nd street, as well as in 2nd street. We are also pouring bases for lights.

Once all the H-piles are out of the ground, Strata will begin grading subgrade and then placing gravel on top of that. When those items are complete, our temporary asphalt pavement will go in from 2nd street to 1st street, followed by temporary striping on the entire job.

We will open ND 3 once we are able and it is safe.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Thank you!

Residents of Rugby,

Strata’s subcontractor is digging in the shoring location going under the bridge for storm drain. They are working day and night to get their work done so this area can open for the winter.

Strata has finished pouring all concrete from 4 street to 3rd street and have moved up to first street. We have also finished placing gravel up to 2nd street and will jump to pouring concrete in between pouring concrete on 1st street.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Residents of Rugby,

Strata’s subcontractor is digging in the shoring location going under the bridge for storm drain.

Strata is continuing to pour concrete in the 4th street intersection and will do mainline from 3rd to 4th next week to get those areas wrapped up. Once those areas have been completed, concrete crews will move to 1st street to begin working.

With the short amount of time left for this construction season, unfortunately we did not meet our goal of completing this project this year. With that being said our current goals for the rest of the season will be to get all the storm drain in under the bridge, concrete completed from 4th street to 2nd street, as well as portions of 1st street, and the remaining areas needing concrete will be paved with temporary asphalt to open the road for the winter. The one half of 1st street will remain in place to be removed next year, with temporary asphalt tying in existing asphalt to concrete.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Thank you!

Residents of Rugby,

Strata’s subcontractor is almost to the bridge with storm drain! Inlets are being placed along the bridge retaining wall. They are also digging in the 1st street intersection placing storm drain.

Strata also began pouring concrete in the intersection of 3rd street, as well as two sections of curb and gutter on 4th street. Once the intersection of 3rd street is completed our intent is to close 4th street and open 3rd street to traffic. This traffic change will potentially happen Monday, October 6th. Timing is TBD but our hope is to have that intersection open sometime in the afternoon. Concrete strengths will determine whether we can open this intersection.

I would also like to continue to mention that if a barricade is open on the project that DOES NOT mean the road is open. That opening is for construction access only, please DO NOT enter or follow any vehicles into the site.

Please continue to use the official detour route which will take you to 28th ave NE.

If there are any further questions give me a call at (701)213-9100.

Thank you!
