In this final installment of Science Corner’s series about external validity, Dr. Sarah E. Frampton discusses the gaps in research or unanswered questions on how they impact choices for consumers, the implications of gaps for service providers with respect to their relative scopes of competence, and also makes suggestions for how researchers and editorial board members can work to close these gaps. Collectively, these practices pave the way for the selection of safe and reliably effective treatments for persons with ASD.
