Students Caring for Underserved Regions Everywhere (Students C.U.R.E.) is a group of University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences (UNDSMHS) health professional students, founded by medical students in January of 2015. We have founded Students C.U.R.E because, as future health professionals, we care about the health and well-being of our fellow humans. Within the next few years
, we will be providing our services to better the human condition. For Students C.U.R.E.’s first project, we have decided to support and raise funds for medically underserved regions in North Dakota and around the world. These funds will improve public health right here in Grand Forks, through our support of the Valley Community Health Centers (VCHC), and around the globe, through Doctors Without Borders. VCHC seeks to provide broad-based access to integrated, whole body care by offering dental, medical, and behavioral health care. Doctors Without Borders has demonstrated a commitment to serving underserved regions, as they are the front-line defense against the most dire medical scenarios across the globe. This is a way that we can make a difference in the lives of others right now. On August 22, 2015, we will be holding the C.U.R.E. Gala, a black tie dinner and dance along with a silent auction. The event will feature speakers from Doctors Without Borders and the VCHC, and all net proceeds will go toward improving local and global medical care. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our group. We would be honored to have your support.
