Through three days of Eden training, these team members explored ways to bring The Eden Alternative philosophy to life in the communities where they work. A key concept was - it’s about more than providing care. It’s about creating meaningful relationships, offering opportunities for purpose and growth, and making sure each person feels valued, connected, and at home.

One week later, and we’re still smiling about Oktoberfest!

The 6th annual Oktoberfest was a night filled with great music, great food, fun games, and incredible generosity!

Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who danced, ate, donated, and bid on items on the silent auction.

A special thank you to Matthew Ternus for keeping the evening moving as our MC and helping make the night so much fun.

But what makes this night especially meaningful is what comes next. The funds raised through Oktoberfest will help make outings, experiences, and special wishes possible for Valley residents through Community Connections and Wishing Wells. Thank you for making it. Join us on Thursday, September 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the lounge at Tufte Manor for an evening with local author Bill Throndset as he shares his first novel, A Murder for Christmas.

Raised in Grand Forks, Bill has written this intriguing story based on a true event. Come meet the author, hear more about his book and enjoy an interesting evening filled with stories, conversation and connection.

Everyone has a story about where they’re from. ❤️

At Valley, the "Where I’m From" project gave residents an opportunity to share some of those stories, from childhood homes and family traditions to the people, places and experiences that shaped who they are.

The result is a beautiful collection of memories and a reminder that every person has a story worth hearing.

We’re grateful for the partnership with the ND Council on the Arts and to the Grand Forks Herald for sharing this special project and the stories behind it.

The memories and storytelling involved offered an almost therapeutic reflection for residents and families involved.
