Dear Grand Forks and Our Incredible Community Partners,
There are moments when you get to see what community truly looks like, and yesterday at University Park was one of those moments.
To every organization, volunteer, business, agency, and individual who showed up for our Ready for Success Back to School Community Unity Day, thank you.
We watched children receive the supplies and resources they needed to walk into a new school year with confidence. We watched parents connect with organizations that could support their families. But perhaps most beautifully, we watched families simply be families; laughing, dancing, eating together, playing together, and creating memories.
For a few hours, University Park became more than a park. It became a picture of what is possible when a community chooses to love its neighbors well.
There were no titles that mattered. No organizational boundaries. No competition over who received the credit. There were simply people serving people.
And that is what Love in Action looks like.
Scripture reminds us, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
Grand Forks, you put those words into practice.
Every tent raised, every backpack handed out, every meal served, every haircut given, every resource shared, every smile offered, and every child who danced without a care in the world reminded us why this work matters.
Our theme was “One Community. One Mission.” Yesterday, you made those words real.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our families, believing in our children, and believing in what can happen when we come together.
May God bless every hand that served, every organization that gave, and every family that walked through University Park.
This is community. This is service. This is love…in action.
With gratitude and love,
Love in Action GF
One Community. One Mission.
