Even in a state like North Dakota, we have dozens of LGBTQ+ orgs all over region. The Raise the Trans Flag Event is meant to inspire hope. And one of the key sources of hope for me is just how much community exist today, compared to twenty years ago.

As much as we have negative rhetoric at the national level, families have never been more loving and accepting of their LGBTQ+ youth. These youth have never had a better opportunity to grow up as who they are, to be accepted by their friends, and see a real future in their life.

I know that doesn't mean much to the many youth who still don't grow up in these environments, but to me it's such a night and day difference from the culture I grew up in. That I believe in my heart we can keep making a difference. That love can continue to win.

There is so much you can buy from local q***r artists across the state! I have all the various q***r art sellers I could find listed and you can scroll through the page to get some sample of their art!

Buying q***r art gifts isn't just something meaningful to the person you're giving the gift too, it supports local q***r folks and art to keep happening. It is a celebration of community. And if you're an organization with money to give for office gifts or need to decorate your place, it means a lot more to get art with a story than just whatever you found on amazon.

On November 20, we came together to honor the memory of transgender and gender-diverse individuals lost to violence. Between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, approximately 354 transgender and gender-diverse people were reported murdered.

Let us remember, reflect, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive world.
