Smiley/Midtown Park 50th Celebration!
Join the Near North Neighborhood Association for a fun-filled afternoon as we celebrate 50 years of Midtown - Smiley Park on Saturday, June 28th, from 1:30pm - 4:30pm at Smiley Playground in Midtown Park (4th Ave N & N 6th St, Grand Forks) for a FREE event where you can enjoy an outdoor oven bread making cooking demonstration, check out a family-fun music and movement session with Chatty Learners, go on a history tour of the Near North Neighborhoods, and meet many local organizations.
Event parking is available in both of the lots by St. Michael's Church. The parking lot at Augustana Lutheran will be blocked off for the food truck and vendors -- including north-end business Las Delicias de la Abuela. This event is hosted by the Near North Neighborhood Association and sponsored by the North-end Dairy Queen, Deek's Pizza, St. Michael's Church, St. Michael's Catholic School, Augustana Lutheran Church, Visit Greater Grand Forks, and others.
The first 200 attendees will receive door prize coupons for free Deeks Pizza or a free cone at the North-end Dairy Queen.
Many community organizations will table during the event to pass out more FREE goodies and host interactive stations, including: All Embracing Home Care, A Johnston Therapy, Art Matters, Arts for Vets, Blue Zones Project Grand Forks, Chatty Learners, Community Options, CVIC, Daisy Circle Studios, EL Way, Grand Cities Pickleball, Grand Forks PD, High Plains Fair Housing Center, Kidwell Signature Cleaning, Las Delicias de la Abuela, Love In Action, NDSU Extension Grand Forks County, Red River Valley DSA, Spectra Health, and more.

There are NO tickets being sold for this event. It is free and open to the public. The event takes place in a public park as well as a nearby parking lot and on two streets which will be closed off for the event duration. The grounds will be wheelchair-accessible. Individuals as well as families and children are encouraged to come -- anyone with a specific access concern is welcome to get directly in touch with us to make a plan for your safe and enjoyable participation.
