In June 2013, cyclist Maria Parker joined the ranks of cyclists who have completed one of the most respected and grueling endurance sports events in the world. Maria completed the race in honor of her sister, Jenny, who was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in October 2012.

It’s been just over a week since we returned from the Grand Canyon. Our 10th and final crossing was beautiful and unforgettable. From watching the sunrise and exploring new trails to honoring the memories of our loved ones, we left the canyon with full hearts and a renewed sense of hope.

Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal of raising $1 million for brain cancer research. This incredible community has shown up for us year after year, and we are forever grateful for your generosity, encouragement, and belief in this mission. Together, we carry hope forward.

We made it to the South Rim! This is such a special group and we are excited to start our trek into the Grand Canyon tomorrow morning!

From Colorado to Alabama, Arizona to Florida - this year’s hikers are getting in their steps from across the United States!

We are THREE weeks away from taking our first steps into the Grand Canyon! Our team has been busy fundraising and training for the 22 mile trek.

We are less than 7 weeks away from Crossing the Canyon 2025!

Wildfires have devastated the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, but that's not stopping us. This year we will take on a grueling South Rim-based effort taking us down the South Kaibab Trail to the River, Phantom Ranch and back up via Tonto Trail with the infamous finisher of the Havasupai Garden to South Rim Bright Angel ascent.

While this year's crossing will look a little different, our drive to raise funds for much needed brain cancer research remains the same.

We were heartbroken to learn of the devastating fire that destroyed the historic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim. For nearly a decade, this iconic lodge has served as the launch point for our Crossing the Canyon journey — a place where memories were made, nerves settled, and hope began.

This is a profound loss, not just for us, but for the Grand Canyon community as a whole. We are deeply grateful for the years of connection and reflection shared at such a special place.

While the closure of the North Rim is a challenge, our mission will not end here. We are actively working on an alternate route and revised itinerary to ensure that our 2025 Crossing the Canyon continues — because the urgency of our cause remains unchanged.

Our resolve to raise funds and hope for those affected by brain cancer is stronger than ever.

As the weather warms up, this year’s Crossing the Canyon crew will start lacing up their hiking boots to start the training required for the 25 mile trek across the Grand Canyon.

The trek is a powerful metaphor for the race to end brain cancer. Together we can do this.

This year's Crossing the Canyon trek will take place October 6th. The application will not be made public this year but we are excited to start training, planning and fundraising for another great crossing!
