Maintaining and replacing microphones, batteries, cables, lighting instruments, bulbs, boards, software, and other equipment is an ongoing expense for a community theatre.

Lumber, paint, hardware, fabric, wigs, makeup, tools, storage, furniture, and specialty props all add up quickly.

Our volunteers stretch every dollar, repurpose what they can, and pour imagination into every detail. Still, supplies have a cost.

Rehearsals are underway at BackAlley Community Theatre for its upcoming production of 12 Angry Jurors, a powerful courtroom drama that examines justice, personal bias, responsibility and the importance of reasonable doubt.

Adapted by Sherman L. Sergel from Reginald Rose’s acclaimed drama, 12 Angry Jurors follows a jury tasked with deciding the fate of a young man accused of murder. What initially appears to be a straightforward case becomes an intense and deeply personal deliberation as one juror challenges the group to look more closely at the evidence. As the discussion unfolds, the jurors confront not only the facts of the case, but also their own assumptions, prejudices and personal experiences.

The production is directed by Dawson Weileder, with Amy Hall serving as assistant director.

The cast includes Donna Batten, Steven Lane, Brian McCarty, Faith Cherrier, Monica Stinson, Ashton Rachal, Amy Hall, John Brewer, Chance Robertson, Bob Perry, Sarah Copeland, Paul Sabu and MC Carpenter.

Known for its tense exchanges and thought-provoking questions, 12 Angry Jurors places audiences inside the jury room as twelve ordinary people wrestle with an extraordinary decision. The drama explores how a single voice can prompt a closer examination of the facts—and how the responsibility of deciding another person’s future can bring long-held beliefs and emotions to the surface.

BackAlley Community Theatre invites the community to experience this timeless story brought to life by a talented local cast and creative team. With rehearsals now in progress, audiences can expect an evening of meaningful theater, strong performances and a story that remains relevant because it asks enduring questions about fairness, courage and the duty to seek the truth.

Tickets for 12 Angry Jurors go on sale October 18.
