DeSoto 4-H Jr. Leaders lending a hand at Flower Hill’s Cowboy Camp today! I just love how our kids are always stepping up to assist around the parish! These young leaders are gaining valuable experience and garnering quite a few compliments in the process! Great job Ava, Clay, and Morgan! Looks like a fun day!

🚨”Go BIG or go home!” Well, we are going BIG this year with the help of Expand Energy, 4-H Fun Day 2026 will be a celebration like no other! Water slide, bull riding, gator gulch, snow cones, gaming trailer, tons of games, and bouncy horses! We can’t wait to host our 4-H’ers for a day of ultimate 4-H FUN! Mark your calendars kids, you don’t want to miss this! Permission Slips will come from your school 4-H leaders!

Jr. Livestock Club held their monthly meeting this evening at the 4-H office. This month's topic was animal by-products. VP Clay taught the group about the many by-products that we use daily from animals including crayons, baseballs, and even gum! The group got to experiment a little and made bubbles from beef by-products. We learned that by using by-products, 99% of every beef animal can be utilized after processing. After a competitive game of Animal By-product Jeopardy, we got to go outside and blow our bubbles that we made.

Our next meeting will be held on April 27th. This will be our livestock interest meeting where we will discuss important things regarding showing livestock. Our current show team members will have animals on hand and will be available to answer any questions so make plans now to attend to learn about showing livestock!

Eco-Quest is in the books for 2026. These kiddos learned about preserving our environment and taking individual steps to reduce waste. They were so much fun to spend the day with, I was lucky enough to be the photographer, chaperone, and chauffeur!!! The giggles were the BEST part of the day! Enjoy the photos ⤵️

Glow Party Post! Our Jr. Leaders have been busy this weekend! They assisted at the Foster Grandparents of Louisiana Glow Party, for DeSoto Parish 2nd Graders who achieved this fun party award! This was so much fun and I am so proud of some of our 4-H Cloverbuds who were chosen by their principal! What a great Sunday afternoon!
