Something I heard this morning that stuck with me

A scholar went to a wise master to learn. The scholar had much knowledge. The master made them tea. When he poured tea into the scholars cup, he kept pouring until the scholar’s cup was overflowing. The scholar asked the master. What are you doing? The cup is already full. The master then explained to him like the cup. You are already full of your opinions. How can I teach something to someone who doesn’t allow room for knowledge? A mind cannot let in peace if it’s overflowing with worries. A heart cannot let in love when it’s overflowing with resentment.

Oh darling, I hear the things they say about me.
And honestly… I could care less.
It’s the same chorus they’ve been singing for years.
Too much.
Too opinionated.
Too strong.
Too loud.
Too hard to handle.
They dress it up in fancy words and careful labels, thinking they’ve finally figured me out.
What they never realize is something beautifully simple.
I was never meant to fit into their tidy little definitions.
I’m not built for boxes.
I’m not meant to be labelled.
I’m not here to become the version of me that makes them comfortable.
No…
I’m proudly one of a kind.
A wild mix of chaos and curves.
A woman who knows exactly who she is and isn’t afraid to let the world see it.
Forget the rules.
Forget the polished expectations.
Forget the idea that life must be lived quietly and passively.
I will always follow the fire in my heart.
I’ll chase my dreams like they’re meant to be caught.
I’ll steal every beautiful moment life tries to hide from me.
And I will always speak my truth without apology.
You may not always understand me.
But one thing is certain.
You will never forget me.
And why would you want to?
You’ll never meet another soul quite like mine.
So if who I am feels like too much for you… you’re free to walk away.
That choice was always yours.
Because I love the woman I’m becoming.
I celebrate the way I keep growing.
Stronger.
Wiser.
More alive with every passing day.
Sure, some days I’m a beautiful disaster.
Some days I’m figuring it out as I go.
Some days I have no idea how everything will get done.
But somehow…
I always show up and find a way.
I always conquer what stands in my way.
And I always rise above the obstacles.
This life is mine.
These choices are mine.
And the people I keep close to my heart… I love them fiercely.
So if you want a place in my circle, come correct.
Come with passion.
Come open-minded and genuine.
Because life changes every single day.
And the only thing that matters is how you rise to meet it.
As for me…
My path is exactly where it should be.
Wild.
Fulfilling.
Alive with purpose.
And most of all… happy.
Because I love the woman I am.
And that will never change.

It’s better to keep it humble and keep your mouth closed.

Because the truth is, it could happen to you.
Whatever it is.

It could happen to you.

You could mess up.

Your child could mess up.

Your spouse could mess up.

And none of us know how we’ll respond until we’re actually in that situation ourselves. We just don’t. We don’t know how we’ll feel. We don’t know how we’ll respond. Looking at a storm from the outside is always different than standing in the middle as the rains and the winds beat down on you.

You could be the talk of the town.

You could be the one who’s getting judged.
You could be the one to disappoint.

Addiction.
Divorce.
Bankruptcy.
Scandal.

Mental health problems.

None of us are so good, so mighty, so perfect that we’re immune.

So it’s better to keep it humble.

Keep your mouth closed.

And just pray for them with the same amount of grace you would want to be given to you.
Because the truth is, it could happen to you.
