LAFD promotes officers, recognizes service
On Oct. 28, the Lost Acres Fire Department, along with family, friends and representatives from neighboring departments, gathered to recognize the promotion of new department officers. The ceremony recognized the election of Tim Weber as chief of the department and the appointment of the following positions: Erik Davis as assistant chief, Jason Cooke and Bill McHugh as deputy chiefs, Paul Cote and Dan Jacobs as captains, and Kyle Gilmore and Bill Langdon as lieuten-ants.

Thank you again to former LAFD Chief Horr!! 👏🏻🏆🚒

At the LAFD Christmas party in December, the LAFD took some time to formally recognize and thank John Horr, Jr, for his 17 years of service as Chief of the LAFD.

Chief Horr was presented a ceremonial speaking trumpet by Chief Tim Weber. The speaking trumpet holds a revered place in fire service history as an early tool of command and communication on the fireground. Before radios, officers used it to project clear, authoritative orders through smoke and chaos, helping keep crews coordinated and safe. More than a tool, it became a symbol of leadership, responsibility, and tradition—representing the trusted voice of command when it mattered most.

In addition to recognizing his 17 years of service, the LAFD also recognized Chief Horr for his 45 years of service to the LAFD with a ceremonial challenge coin.

Please join us in thanking Chief Horr for his tireless service to the Town of Granby.
