Here's hoping the Granby Bow and Gun Club family is having a great holiday season. The New Year brings the return of our indoor archery season!! Starting Wednesday January 4th at 7PM, our spot league returns!! On Friday January 6th at 7PM we will be starting our indoor 3D shoots. We plan to go for 10-12 weeks depending on interest. Shoot one week or shoot them all. All shoots are $10.00 and open to members, guests, and non members.

If you're new to archery leagues, give it a try. There will be plenty of mentors there to show you how things work.

This summer has been amazingly busy but extremely successful for the archers of our Club. There are almost too many to list; but I will try. I apologize if I miss any one or any event.

Rick Thelig- National Field Archery Association - 70+ National Champion, New England Regional Champion, to go with his USA Archery indoor National Championship.

Bill Peters- National Field Archery Association - 60+ New England Champion

Gary Graves- 70+- USA Archery -Outdoor National Champion, Mass. State Champion, Mass. Senior Games -Gold,

Gary Scagliarini- 70+- USA Archery- Outdoor National-Bronze, Mass. State Championship-Silver, Mass Senior Games- Silver, Baystate Games-Gold

Lynn McAvoy- 70+ Mass Senior Games- gold, Baystate Games- Gold, USA Archery Mass State Championship- Silver

Tammy Watson-60+-Mass Senior Games- Silver, Baystate Games- Silver

Then we have our 15 year old phenom, Dewey Hathaway. He went to too many tournaments to list and was successful in all of them. He qualified first in the USA Archery JOAD National, he qualified 2nd in the Gator Cup, and in his spare time he was the New England Field Archery - Youth New England Champ. After beating up on kids his own age he decided to compete against the pros in the USA Archery outdoor National Championship. He qualified 11th and made it to the quarter finals of the elimination round to loose in a one arrow shoot out against a seasoned pro. Amazing!

Everyone put in the work and were successful for their efforts. Keep it up and have a successful indoor season!

June 25 & 26 was a great weekend for the archers from the Club. We hosted the NFAA New England Sectional tournament and our archers did amazing. Rick Thelig, Bill Peters, and Dewey Hathaway all won their respective divisions. Steve Giroux finished a very respectable third in his division. On the same weekend, the BayState Games were held in Hopkinton, Mass. From our Club, Lynn McAvoy and Gary Scagliarini won their respective divisions and Tammy Watson finished second in her division. Congratulations to our archers!!
