***Community Assist Request - Burglary of Building***

On Tuesday, September 2, 2026, Hood County Sheriff's Office responded to report of a burglary of a building that occurred at David's grocery store, located in the 5200 block of Acton Hwy, after an employee arrived to work to find damage to front doors from being forced open. This burglary occurred between Monday, September 1 at 11:00 PM and Tuesday, September 2 at 5:30 AM.

Hood County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance from community in the immediate area of this location to check your surveillance footage that could provide additional leads in this investigation. We have already spoken with some residents nearby but is likely other residents or business could have video we are not aware of.

🚨 PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED – FRAUD INVESTIGATION 🚨

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual pictured.

On August 19 and August 20, 2026, the pictured individual entered Citizens National Bank of Texas, located at 102 Harris Avenue in Red Oak, Texas, where they allegedly committed fraud resulting in a significant monetary theft. The victim in this case is a resident of Johnson County.

Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with this individual. If you recognize this person or have any information that may assist investigators, please contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Please be on the look out. We have a person or persons in Hood County deliberately starting grass fires in different areas around the county. If there has been an area near you where a fire has occurred, please check any cameras on your property to see if you can identify a suspect or suspect vehicle. If you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please report it to the Sheriff's office immediately. 🚨 SCAM ALERT: GIFT CARDS & BITCOIN = RED FLAGS 🚨

The Granbury Police Department continues to regularly receive reports of scams involving gift cards and Bitcoin payments. These cases are especially frustrating because they are preventable.

Scammers use many different stories to convince victims to send money. Some of the most common involve:

• Outstanding bills or debts
• Warrants or alleged fines
• Computer or technical support
• Investment opportunities
• Romantic interests or online relationships
• Someone claiming to be a family member in trouble

⚠️ If someone tells you that you must pay them with gift cards or Bitcoin, STOP. DO NOT SEND THE MONEY.

Scammers are convincing. They may know personal information about you, create a sense of urgency, threaten you with arrest, or spend weeks or even months gaining your trust. You may feel like your situation is different—but these tactics are exactly how these scams work.

Before sending money or providing personal information, hang up and verify the situation yourself. Do not call a phone number provided by the person contacting you.

Once money is sent through gift cards, Bitcoin, or similar methods, there is often little to no chance of recovering it. Many of these scams originate overseas, making it extremely difficult for local law enforcement to identify the suspects or recover the funds.

A few minutes spent checking before sending money could prevent the loss of hundreds—or thousands—of dollars.

Hood County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in identifying these two individuals associated to an ongoing criminal trespass / theft investigation, which occurred on July 5, 2026, at about 10 PM at the Tommy's convenience store located in the 4200 block of Rhea Rd Granbury, Texas.

***Community Assistance Request***

Between June 20 and July 4, 2026, numerous vehicles were burglarized in the area of Timber Cove Estates and DeCordova Ranch Estates during the evening/night hours. The suspect was captured on video surveillance by a few cameras during the commission of at least one of the burglaries.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, approximately 6'00'' to 6'03'' tall, weighing approximately 160 to 180 pounds.

If you live in Timber Cove Estates or DeCordova Ranch and have any cameras, Investigators are requesting you review any footage from June 20 until July 4, 2026, for a subject matching the description.

Investigators have confirmed that on July 4, 2026, the suspect was wearing a dark colored hoodie, shorts, tall (ankle high) white socks, and red tennis shoes. The suspect was also seen covering his mouth/nose with a red colored bandana.

Investigators do not believe the suspect was utilizing a vehicle and therefore is most likely a resident of the immediate area.
