David Crockett Chapter 47, The Sons of the Republic of Texas The David Crockett Chapter 47 of the Sons of the Republic of Texas consists of direct lineal descendants of those who were living in Texas before Feb.19,1846.

Its members are proud to support its purpose and mission right here in Hood County, TX.

Happy San Jacinto Day on April 21st! In celebration of this great date in Texas History, yesterday our chapter provided free Texas dogs (hot dogs in tortillas) and Dr. Pepper to the community in Acton while the Texas Heroes Foundation and volunteers put up the Texas Flag Display along Fall Creek Highway. A special thank you to the David Crockett chapter members who participated in this event and to the Hood County News for helping us get the word out to the community!

We're looking forward to participating in this great event on Sunday. The weather will be perfect! Chapter members - please check your email and RSVP to Errol Flannery if you'd like to help serve.

YOU'RE INVITED!!! This Sunday, April 19th, is Texas Flag Display Day as we prepare to pay our remembrance of those who fought the Battle of San Jacinto. We will be installing more than 200 Texas Flags along Fall Creek Highway in Acton, Texas.

The public is invited to celebrate with us as the David Crockett Chapter 47, The Sons of the Republic of Texas is sponsoring a FREE "Texas Hot Dog and Dr. Pepper" cookout to help us celebrate from 1 PM to 3 PM on April 19th in front of the Historic Acton Cemetery.

Bring the whole family and talk with descendants of the Republic of Texas about this important date in Texas history!
